The Harbinger #3
The third installment of "The Harbinger" is now out and oh man, this is the issue I've been waiting on! Writers Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing with artwork by Robbi Rodriguez, colors by Rico Renzi and letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou have given us the readers a fantastic issue and I had a ton of fun reading this one! "The Harbinger" is from Valiant Entertainment and I can't wait to read the rest of these issues! Let's review!
We pick up right where we left off is issue #2, shocker, and we see Peter and Cici doing some DIY costume design and as we turn the page we finally see Peter Stanchek in full costume as The Harbinger and right away I was hooked. Robbi and Rico do such an amazing job at capturing the feel and energy of this character and I honestly just stopped reading and just looked in awe at this image! Peter is on his way to save Young Ago from The Warning who captured him in the previous issue but he also has something else on his mind. As he breaks into the hideout of where the group is staying, wipes them all out in a flash! He defeats all excepts for two of them and then he goes for his personal mission...to get his memories back. He aims his sights on Lethean but to his surprise she is crying and in fear. She tells Peter that she didn't take anything from him but she only made him forget for a little while. Peter had enough and defeated her then grabbed Young Ago and they escaped back home. I think I need to be a little more clear on the "defeat" part because of the five members of The Warning, two escaped and the others are either in custody or as Peter says "a crapshoot of justice" so they are dead...at least I don't think they are. Peter and Ago fly back home and in that moment, Peter realizes that this is his home and these are his people. He can stay where he is and make new memories and be a new person to everyone because they love him and look up to him. This is his new home and he understands that now. Everything is looking up for Peter until The Renegade appears and wants to show who the real Peter Stanckek is!
Overall, this issue is so good! I loved everything about it from the story, artwork colors and even the emotional ending with a nice twist to the end! I think this run has been so good and issue #3 just tops it and makes me so excited for issue #4! "The Harbinger #3" gets a 5/5 from me!
